Instructions

    • 1

Remove the screws that hold the upholstered top onto the base or feet. Remove the old upholstery from the cushion by removing the staples with pliers and a screw driver.

    • 2

Measure around the top of the stool from the bottom edge to the opposite bottom edge in both directions. Add 5 inches to each of these measurements to determine what size of leather piece you will need.

    • 3

Spread out the leather and center the cushion upside down on it. Wrap the leather up and over one long side of the cushion and staple along this edge about 1 inch in from the edge. Space the staples 1 inch apart, stopping 2 inches from the corner.

    • 4

Wrap the leather up and over the other long side of the cushion and staple it in the same way, pulling the leather very tightly.

    • 5

Pull the leather up over the two short ends and staple it down in the same way.

    • 6

Pull the leather down at a 45-degree angle on one corner and staple it in the middle. Pull the leather between the corner and the edge, forming small neat tucks around the corner. Staple these tucks down. Repeat these steps for the other corners.

Trim the excess leather leaving a 1-inch border beyond the staples. Screw the newly covered cushion back on the foot stool or feet.
