Measure the top surface of the cushion on the glider rocking ottoman. Add 12 inches to each dimension. Cut your fabric to these measurements. Pay careful attention if the fabric is patterned that you line up the pattern the way you want it. Iron the wrinkles out of the fabric.
Smooth out the fabric with right side down on a clean, flat surface. Turn the glider rocking ottoman upside down on the wrong side of the fabric. Position the ottoman directly in the center of the fabric. If your fabric has a pattern, carefully line up the ottoman so the pattern will be straight.
Pick up one side of the fabric piece directly in the middle of the side. Fold it over the back of the ottoman. Pull the fabric firmly around the cushion but not so firmly that the fabric slides. Staple the fabric ½ inch from the edge of the hard bottom of the ottoman.
Pick up the middle of the opposite side of the fabric and fold it over the ottoman. Pull the fabric taut but not so tight that it crushes the cushioning. Staple the fabric ½ inch from the edge of the bottom piece.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the other two sides of the ottoman.
Begin next to one of the existing staples and pull the fabric taut. Place a staple about an inch away from the existing one. Continue this process and work your way to the corner then secure the fabric to the other half of the same side of the fabric. Repeat for each of the remaining sides of the fabric, leaving the corners free.
Fold one corner of the fabric toward the middle of the back piece of the cushion. It will form a diamond shape. Tuck the sides of the diamond shape under the diamond and smooth the creases as much as possible. Staple the fabric in place ½ an inch from the edge. Repeat this step for each of the other three corners. Turn your ottoman right side up and it is ready for use.
