How to Lubricate a Dutailier Ottoman

A Dutailier ottoman comes with the Dutailier glider rocker as a place to rest your feet. Like the rocker, the ottoman also glides on a set of metal rails. Over time, the rails and wood on the Dutailier ottoman start to squeak after use. To prevent the ottoman from squeaking, you can lubricate it with sewing machine oil. The oil can also be used on the wooden parts of the ottoman that rub together to stop any squeaking there.

• Sewing machine oil
• Cloth

     Turn the Dutailier ottoman over on its back so you can reach the metal rails and wooden underbelly.

   • 2

     Place two to three drops of sewing machine oil into every area that the metal rails rub against each other.

   • 3

     Place one to two drops of oil on any part of the Dutailier ottoman where wood and wood rub against each other or wood and metal rub against each other.

   • 4

     Use a cloth to wipe off the excess oil.
