How to Make a Wood-stain Stripper

Before a wooden piece is refinished, the original layer of sealant or varnish must be removed. There are a variety of products available to remove this finish, but these pose a potential risk. Some brands of chemical strippers contain dangerous ingredients, including methylene chloride, which is potentially toxic when inhaled. Creating a safer, natural wood-stain stripper at home will restore the beauty of the piece without any harmful side effects.

    • 3

Combine the flour paste and washing soda paste and mix until all of the ingredients are well blended.
