How to Build a Bar Picture

The perfect complement to a home or public bar is a tasteful and appropriate picture hung behind it (or near it). Whether you have a themed bar or something more simplistic, adding a framed accent picture can really bring the area together. According to "1000 Restaurant, Bar and Cafe Graphics" by Luke Herriott, "A brand that has been cleverly designed portrays the style of a...bar."

Instructions

    • 1

Determine what best fits the atmosphere of your bar. Public establishments typically have a couture or theme that influences style choices. Home bars are often simpler and up to the whims of the owner.

    • 2

Select a picture that works well with your bar. You can work with a personal photograph you enlarged, or a commercial painting or image from a store.

    • 3

Measure the size of your photo or painting. Use measuring tape to get the proper dimensions.

    • 4

Purchase a frame of the appropriate size with a style you enjoy. Most craft stores or department stores should have a selection of frames. Flea markets and antique stores may have alternate styles of frames. Thinner photographs need a glass covering included with the frame.

    • 5

Remove the backing from the frame. Place the photograph inside the frame and add the matting and backing.

    • 6

Hang your bar picture. Hammer a nail for both sides of the frame. Use a level to get the picture straight.
