# Grandfather Clock Packing Instructions
Moving from one home to another can be stressful, especially if you have a lot of valuable and fragile items to move. If you are planning a big move and have a grandfather clock you need to take with you, you may be concerned about damage to the clock. As long as you take the appropriate precautions, there is no reason for your grandfather clock to be damaged in the move.
Things You'll Need
- Masking tape
- Bubble wrap
- Blankets

Open the front clock case and insert the hand crank into the hole in the clock face. Turn it counterclockwise to raise the pulleys and weights. Raise the weights until they are just below the top of the clock.

Lift the three weights off of the pulleys and mark them with masking tape. This will identify their positions for reassembly.

Remove the pendulum from the body of the clock by lifting it off its hook and springs.

Remove the hood from the clock dial and then lift the dial off of the clock.

Wrap the dial in bubble wrap and pack it in a box.

Wrap the weights and pendulum in bubble wrap and pack them in boxes.

Wrap the clock body in blankets and pack it in an appropriately sized box.
