If your child has a doll with many outfits, it is not likely you will find a toy dresser in a store today. Instructions

    • 1

Cut 1-by-10 lumber into five pieces, three that are 20 inches long, and two that are 11 1/2 inches long. Cut a 1-by-4 into two pieces that are each 21 1/2 inches long.

    • 2

Lay one of the 20-inch-long pieces flat on your work surface, with the long edges on the left and right and the shorter edges on the top and bottom. Squeeze a bead of wood glue along the left and right edges. Attach the two remaining 20-inch pieces perpendicular to the first, one along each glue line.

    • 3

Clamp the glued boards in place, and let them dry completely. Sink two screws through the back board into each side board, one at the top and one at the bottom. Release the clamps.

    • 4

Attach one of the 21 1/2-inch-long pieces to the free edge of each side piece. Use two butterfly hinges, one at the top and one at the bottom, for each one. This creates doors that open and close.

    • 5

Add shelves or drawers to the interior of your toy dresser. Think about the type of storage you utilize in your own dresser, and recreate it in miniature.

    • 6

Paint the toy dresser as you desire. Add a small doorknob to each door to make them easier to open and close.
