Instructions

    • 1

Trim the edges of the ripped hole with scissors to provide a smooth, uniform edge.

    • 2

Purchase a patch piece of vinyl fabric that matches the torn vinyl. Most upholstery stores will have a variety of colors that should match your old upholstery.

    • 3

Tuck the vinyl patch into the ripped part of the furniture. Adjust the patch with your fingers to make it smooth and flat without making the ripped part larger.

    • 4

Lift the ripped pieces away from the inserted patch with your fingers. Apply a dab of vinyl adhesive to the back of the ripped vinyl as well as the underlying part of the new patch. Lightly press the old vinyl pieces together to secure the adhesion, which will seal the tear. Press the sealed tear down onto the new patch.

Allow the vinyl to dry for at least 24 hours in a moderate temperature before using the furniture again.
