Estate makes vanity tops for bathroom vanities, bedroom vanities and even double-sink vanities. Instructions

    • 1

Prepare the top of the vanity frame for the installation of the Estate vanity top by arranging the surface of the vanity so it matches the bottom surface of the vanity top. Add additional wood blocks to the top surface of the frame if it is uneven or if it seems too flimsy or light to support the heavy vanity top. Attach any blocks with 3-inch wood screws drilled through the existing frame boards and into the new blocks.

    • 2

Position the vanity top over the vanity frame and mark the location of the sink basin in the vanity frame. Set the vanity top back down and cut out the entire marked section of the vanity top using a saw. Begin the cutting process if cutting directly in the center by drilling a large hole with a drill into the section to be removed. Widen the holes if necessary by drilling multiple overlapping holes. Set the saw within the hole and cut out the rest of the sink section.

    • 3

Set the vanity top on the wood frame and make sure that the fit is good. Cut or sand any section of the frame that needs further adjustment for the vanity top to rest evenly. Fit the vanity top to the frame so that it is good and snug, and remove the vanity top. Sand the entire top surface of the frame. Wipe it down to remove excess sawdust.

    • 4

Load a tube of waterproof wood and ceramic caulk within a caulking gun that has been completely opened. Tighten the caulking gun. Apply a thin layer of caulk by squeezing the trigger of the caulking gun. Apply the layer on each surface of the top of the vanity frame, paying close attention to the areas around the edge of the top and around the sink. Apply caulk to the back wall area where the backsplash will rest, if applicable.

Lower the vanity top onto the caulked surface in a timely fashion so the caulking does not have time to dry. Settle it in place by pushing down all over with even motions to push the caulking around. Wipe off any excess caulking using a cloth.
