How to Put Together Gondola Shelves

Gondola shelves are metal shelves that have adjustable fitting racks. The racks slide in and lock into place and you can lift the shelves up and out of the locks to remove or adjust the height of the shelves. The assembly only takes a few minutes and you can disassemble the shelves with ease because there are not any tools required for the disassembly.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather the two upright pieces and the four base legs and then turn all of the pieces upside down. The upright pieces are the long pieces that are used to hold the back of the shelves together.

    • 2

Slide two of the base legs into the bottom of one of the upright pieces. One base leg will go in the front and one will go in the back, creating a “T” shape. Tighten the fit by hitting the base legs into place with a rubber hammer. Repeat for the second upright piece to create two “T” shaped pieces.

    • 3

Slide the hooks on the smallest back panel into the slots created on both of the uprights. Make sure to start at the bottom and insert the back panel into the first hole on the bottom of each upright.

    • 4

Continue to slide the hooks for the additional back panels into place above the lowest piece of the back panel. All of the pieces will lock together and slide into the two uprights.

    • 5

Insert the front kickplate into the front of the base legs. The kickplate hooks will slide and lock into place.

    • 6

Lay the bottom shelf down onto the base of the legs and allow the overhanging hooks on the bottom shelf to latch into the groves.

    • 7

Stand back and view the shelf to ensure that it is level. If it is not, turn the feet on the bottom of the shelf to raise or lower the legs to level out the shelf. Turn the feet counterclockwise to raise that side up and clockwise to lower that side.

    • 8

Slide the brackets for the shelves into the uprights. Slide one bracket into one upright and another into the same slot on the other upright to ensure the shelves will be even when in place. You may use multiple brackets, depending on how many shelves you want.

    • 9

Lower the shelves onto the brackets and lock them into place by pushing the front hooks into the latches. Push down on the shelves to double check they are locked into place. The shelves should not move if secured.

    • 10

Repeat the directions for the other side of your gondola shelves.

    • 11

Place the end cap covers onto the top of the uprights and push them down into place.

    • 12

Place the top cover over the gap between the top of the shelves and snap it into place.
