Turn the bar stool onto its side to begin repairing the stool’s feet. Slip a bar stool glide over the ends of the individual legs. Glides give your stool feet that hold the stool in place and prevent any accidental scratching of floors.
Disassemble every component connected to the frame of the bar stool if the frame is dented or broken. You will have to reassemble the bar stool to a new frame with the previous seat, cushion and glides if you want to preserve the stool.
Unscrew and discard the seat if it is broken. Most bar stools are connected with a simple series of screws and are interchangeable with most bar stool frames. Line the seat with the holes of the frame and screw the new seat into place. Some of the Crate & Barrel bar stools incorporate a loose cushion on top of the seat.
Drape a bar stool seat cover over the surface of a torn bar stool seat. Stretch the elastic cover over the existing seat and tuck it underneath for a smooth, uniform appearance.
