Pry off the quarter-round wood pieces from the back of a glass panel. These stops are either glued, stapled or nailed into the cabinet frame. Slice between the stop and the frame with a utility knife if the stop is glued on. Otherwise, insert a putty knife or small pry bar at each nail or staple to pry off the stop. Begin with the top horizontal stop, then take off the side stops. Lastly, remove the bottom stop while holding the glass so it doesn’t fall.
Cut a piece of speaker cloth slightly larger than the cabinet panel opening. Cut it on the weave lines.
Place the cloth over the opening from the back with an even border of cloth all the way around the hole. Place a staple at the center of the top edge through the fabric into the wood. Stretch the fabric tautly to the bottom and staple it in the middle of the bottom edge of the frame. Stretching the fabric taut to one side, staple the middle of one side. Stretch it to the other side and place a staple in the middle of that side.
Staple the top edge first to the right and then to the left side of the first staple. Work your way across the width of the top, stretching the fabric taut as you go. Staple the bottom edge and then the sides in turn using the same technique. Ensure the weave lines of the cloth line up with the frame.
Trim excess fabric edges close to the staples with scissors.
Repeat Steps 1 through 5 for each glass panel you want to replace with speaker fabric.
