How to Build Branch Furniture

Basic outdoor furniture and rustic indoor furniture can both be made from branches that you've collected from outside. While a lot of how the finished product looks depends on the branches you use, a straightforward design allows you to build simplistic branch furniture in one afternoon. As you select your branches, make sure each one is whole, without any cracks, and solid rather than hollow, to create a longer-lasting piece of furniture.

    • 3

Cut six 4-inch-thick branches to 18 inches long. Stand each of these post-like branches upright at each corner with the remaining two set upright next to the center 1-inch-thick branch. Drive a nail through the 1-inch-thick branches and into each 4-inch-wide branches. Drive a nail at an angle through each 4-inch-thick branch and into the 3-inch-thick branches below. Flip the unit over to finish.
