An Easy-to-Install Light Kit for a Home Display Cabinet

A home display cabinet allows you to exhibit your cherished collectibles in one area, but often the shadows cast by the display cabinet shelves can leave your collection in the dark. Add an easy-to install light kit inside your cabinet to illuminate your collection without damaging the cabinet or installing any wires. Battery operated LED light kits come in all sizes and shapes, making it effortless to find one that best suits your display cabinet, and they can last up to 100,000 hours before you need to replace them.

Instructions

    • 1

Install the batteries in your LED display cabinet light kit. Most kits use “AA” batteries and will install differently depending on the brand and model of the kit. Make sure to use new batteries in your fixture.

    • 2

Clean the top of the cabinet light with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol or an alcohol prep pad. Use an additional alcohol prep pad or cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol to clean the light installation site on the cabinet. Alcohol does not leave a film and allows for better tape adhesion.

    • 3

Measure and cut piece of hook-and-loop self-adhering tape to fit the top of the cabinet light. Peel the protective paper backing from only one side of the hook-and-loop tape. Press the adhesive side of the tape to the top of the LED light. Peel the protective backing from the opposite side of the hook-and-loop tape. Firmly press the tape and light against the light kit installation site inside your home display cabinet.
