DVD Storage Ideas

Say goodbye to the single-purpose DVD storage options such as bulky binders or cumbersome towers, and say hello to multipurpose options such as vintage metal bins once used in school lockers -- now used to store your beloved teen-drama DVDs -- or wood bins, commonly used as planters, to store your collection of instructional gardening DVDs.
  1. Bureau of Organization

    • Wooden bureaus are equipped to hold more than clothes, so put them to work as DVD storage. Refinish a wooden bureau. Stow adult fare in the top drawers and kid-friendly material in the bottom drawers, which are easily child accessible. Equip the top drawers or any drawers with questionable DVD covers with child-safety locks. Stire the DVD player on the top and the television above it to turn your bureau into a media center.

    Pass With Flying Colors

    • Add color and organization to your living room with DVD storage boxes in an assortment of colors. Go monochromatic and store movies in boxes of one color, such as white boxes on a black media cabinet, or create a rainbow-inspired display with boxes of every color. Increase the functionality by color-coding boxes, such as blue for historical dramas or pink for romantic comedies. Should boxes not be available, wood or wicker baskets, or old wine crates also work.
