Instructions

    • 1

Measure and mark the height where the shelf will be. Measure 1-inch below that mark for the placement of the bracket arm.

    • 2

Draw a horizontal line from the mark made for the bracket arm placement, using the level as a guide. Make sure the line is 14-inches long and is marked.

    • 3

Hold a bracket against one end of the line so that it is visible through one of it's securing holes and push the pencil tip through the hole. This is the first fixing point for the bracket. Do the same at the other end of the line for the other bracket. You should have two fixing points to be drilled.

    • 4

Drill the two holes using a 1/16-inch drill bit. Push the wall plugs into the holes, tapping them with a hammer to make sure they are fully inserted. Loosely secure both brackets to the wall with screws.

    • 5

Hold the bracket firmly against the wall and mark the remaining drill points by pushing the pencil tip through the bracket's securing hole. Use the level to ensure the bracket is straight. Repeat this for the adjacent bracket and remove both brackets from the wall.

    • 6

Drill the hole marks with the drill and 1/16-inch drill bit and push in the wall plugs. Use a screwdriver to fix both brackets securely to the wall with the bracket fixing screws.

    • 7

Place the wood across the brackets making sure that there is a 5-inch overhang at each end and secure in place with the 1/16-inch wood screws.
