How to Refinish an Entertainment Center With Behr Ultra Latex Paint

Behr latex paint can refinish a variety of surfaces in and outside your home. The paint can be applied to your entertainment center, and will work especially well with furniture made of wood, wood composite and other imitation wood material. One gallon of paint will cover 250 to 400 square feet of surface. Before applying the paint, you must prepare the surface of the entertainment center. Debris, nicks and scratches should be removed to make sure the paint is applied to a smooth surface.

Damp cloth
Paint trough
Sandpaper, 60- to 80-grit
Primer
3/8- to 1/2-inch-nap paint roller

  Remove all electronics and other products from the entertainment center.

  Wipe down the surface of the entertainment center with a damp cloth. Make sure all grime and dirt is removed from the surface. Allow it to dry thoroughly.

  Sand down the entertainment center with medium-grit sandpaper.

  Wipe off dust from the sandpaper, using a damp cloth. Allow the furniture to dry thoroughly.

  Check the air temperature and make sure it is between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

  Remove the lid from the Behr Ultra Latex Paint and stir it thoroughly.

  Pour the latex paint in the paint trough.

  Apply the latex paint to the entertainment center with a 3/8- to 1/2-inch-nap roller. Allow the first coat to dry for four hours before proceeding.

  Apply a second coat of the latex paint in the opposite direction of the first, using the same 3/8- to 1/2-inch-nap roller. Allow the second coat to dry for at least four hours before you use the entertainment center again.
