How to Compare Sealy Latex Mattresses

Currently, the wholesale market for latex mattresses is estimated to be at about $120 million and constantly growing. Latex products represent about 13 percent of specialty bedding. When comparing latex mattresses made by Sealy, you will need to determine whether the mattress is a Spring Free or Comfort series mattress as well as the comfort level.

Instructions

Determine whether the Sealy mattress a Spring Free or Comfort Series level mattress. This is important because Spring Free mattresses carry a 20-year warranty while Comfort Series only carry a 10-year warranty. To determine the level, ask a sales associate or look at the square on the foot of the mattress. It will be difficult to determine this information on-line, as the names of mattresses often vary from store to store.

Determine whether a 20-year warranty is necessary or if a 10-year warranty is suitable for you. Keep in mind that the warranties are often pro-rated. The main difference between Spring Free and Comfort Series mattresses is the amount of latex within the mattress. Spring Free mattresses have a 100 percent latex core while Comfort Series mattresses vary, having anywhere from 1.5 inches to 3.0 inches of latex foam in the mattress.

Determine the comfort level that is right for you. Do this by laying on several types of latex beds for at least 15 minutes each. Notice the differences in a plush and a firm. The Sealy latex mattresses come in ultra plush, plush, cushion firm and firm. Ultra plush is the softest, while firm is the hardest.

Check with a sales associate about whether the store provides a comfort guarantee on its mattresses. Most stores do provide some sort of guarantee to help the customer feel more at ease about purchasing a mattress. It is difficult to get a good idea of how a mattress will feel after a full nights sleep in the small amount of time you test it in the store.

Look at price range on the latex mattress. A Comfort Series queen mattress set should cost anywhere from $1,400 to $1,800. A good price on a Spring Free queen mattress set begins at about $1,899 and goes up from there.
