How to Clean the Smell of Urine Out of Mattresses

Living with kids or pets can be hazardous to your mattresses. Urine accidents are bound to happen at some point. If left untreated, your bedrooms can become smelly, unpleasant places. Since buying a new mattress is not a feasible option for most, finding a method to remove the smell is the challenge that faces you. While there are many commercial urine removal products on the market, home remedies can be just as effective.

  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Water
  • Baking soda

      Blot any excess urine with clean paper towels. Place as much pressure as you can on the spot to draw out as much liquid as possible.

      Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray generously over the entire soiled area.

      Cover the wet area with baking soda.

      Allow the area to dry for several hours.

      Vacuum the area when it is completely dry. This should remove all traces of urine smell from your mattress.
