How to Inflate an AeroBed

The Aerobed is an inflatable mattress with a built-in pump that makes inflation and deflation of the mattress easy. Since the Aerobed has an integrated pump and a control wand, the mattress can be inflated to a comfortable firmness without constant insertion of a hose. As with all air mattresses, care should be taken when positioning and inflating the mattress to avoid punctures or tears. The switch on the pump also serves as a lock for inflation and deflation so air can be manually released with the push of a button or locked for disassembly. The Aerobed is designed so the mattress cannot be overinflated.

Instructions

    • 1

Position the mattress so that the head (top) of the bed is closest to you along with the pump. Check that the lever on the pump is pushed up to the inflate position. Check that the valve at the foot (bottom) of the bed is fully closed (i.e., push the cap to close). Remove the control wand and power cord from the bag

    • 2

Attach the power plug to the pump and plug into an AC outlet. Push and hold the inflation/firmer button on the control wand for 1 minute to inflate the mattress.

    • 3

Lie on the mattress to check the firmness. If desired, press and hold the inflation/firm button on the control wand to add more air to increase the firmness of the mattress. If a softer or less firm mattress is desired, push the center button of the pump briefly to release air, taking care that the button doesn't lock in the deflation position.

Unplug the power cord from the AC outlet when the desired firmness of the mattress has been reached.
