Tempur-Pedic Vs. Select Number

In a lifetime, people average more than 220,000 hours in bed. The two most talked about mattress brands on the market are Tempur-Pedic and the Sleep Number.
  1. Material

    • Layering together different types of Tempur material creates a Tempur-Pedic mattress. The Sleep Number mattress has air chambers that inflate or deflate depending on how hard or soft a mattress is required. A thick piece of support foam and a comfort pad lay on top of the chambers.

    In-Home Trial

    • Tempur-Pedic offers a 90-day in-home trial. If the customer isn't satisfied, return the mattress for a full refund, less return shipping. Select Comfort offers a 30-day in home trial. If the customer isn't satisfied, the bed can be returned for a full refund. Delivery, setup and return shipping charges are paid by the customer.

    Price

    • A queen-sized classic bed mattress by Tempur-Pedic costs approximately $1699 as of October 2009. A queen-sized Sleep Number Classic Series c2 bed that is toggle wired with a foundation costs approximately $1149.97. Neither price includes shipping, handling, taxes or setup charges.

    Warranty

    • The Tempur-Pedic and the Sleep Number bed come with a 20-year limited warranty.

    Where to Purchase

    • Most mattress stores carry Tempur-Pedic mattresses, but you can order online. A Select Comfort store or website is the only place to purchase a Sleep Number bed.
