Instructions

    • 1

Maintain the firmness and evenness of your firm mattress by turning it frequently; this will give you the best support.

    • 2

Make your firm mattress even firmer by putting a few plywood boards between your mattress and the box spring. You can also purchase commercial bed boards or contour mattress supporters that you inflate to the level of firmness you need. This will keep the mattress from sagging and provide you extra support.

    • 3

Pull your firm mattress off the box spring and place it on a hardwood or tile floor for a few nights or longer. This is a temporary measure and won't effect the firmness of your mattress once it's back on the box springs, but it will provide you additional support until you can employ a more permanent solution.

Drag your mattress outside with the help of a friend and hit it with a baseball bat to fluff it up and redistribute the filling to make it firmer.

    • 5

Make your firm mattress softer by laying a feather bed, duvet or memory foam mattress topper on top of the mattress.
