How to Prevent My Air Mattress From Wobbling

Air mattresses make handy substitute beds for spare bedrooms. They are available in sizes from twin to queen and can be placed on any floor surface. Once deflated, they take up little room in storage areas. Some people actually prefer sleeping on an air mattress rather than a traditional mattress, such as pregnant women or people who experience back pain. Air mattresses are not without problems, however; some wobble with every move you make during the night. It is not difficult to stabilize the mattress so that you or your guests can enjoy a full night's sleep.

Instructions

Place your air mattress onto an existing bed frame. Sometimes people have to throw away an old mattress because it is no longer comfortable, but they cannot afford to replace it. Placing your air mattress onto the spare frame will prevent it from wobbling while your guests are trying to sleep. This is also an effective substitute for someone in a new home who cannot yet afford to buy a costly mattress.

Position your air mattress on an old roll-away bed or army cot. Often, the mattress on this type of bed is made of foam or is quite thin. The air mattress will give the person sleeping on it a nice, firm support and the frame will keep it from wobbling.

Set up the air mattress in a corner of the room so that the head and one of the long sides of the mattress are supported by the wall surface. This gives the mattress stability and prevents it from moving and wobbling so much.
