Mattress Construction

• The Perfect Sleeper king-size mattress is nearly square in shape, measuring 76 inches by 79.5 inches. Its inner construction consists of a continuous coil innerspring system, where each coil runs in one continuous row from one end of the mattress to the other. Each coil is also attached to the ones on either side to increase the overall stability of the mattress and decrease the wear on each coil. Above the innerspring coils, Serta adds a layer of egg-crate foam and soft fibers, quilted together to make a cushion. The mattress's edges are also encased in additional foam to extend the life of those edges.

Cushion Options

• Perfect Sleeper buyers can choose from among four different levels of cushioning above the springs, from Firm up to Pillow Top. The Firm option provides the least amount of softness between the sleeper and the support system. Next is the Plush level, which adds extra layers of cushioning within the tailored cover of the traditional mattress style. The Euro Top adds an additional layer of cushioned upholstery to the mattress, while the Pillow Top option is the thickest and softest upholstered layer.

Fire Safety

• Serta's Perfect Sleeper mattresses are covered with a fabric blended of natural and synthetic fibers that meets all government standards for open-flame resistance and mattress inflammability. However, these regulations are designed to prevent only flash fires in mattresses, so even a new Perfect Sleeper mattress may still burn slowly. In addition, all Perfect Sleeper mattresses meet the Consumer Products Safety Commission standards for the use of materials that are not hazardous to consumers or the environment.

Warranty

• The Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress comes with a 10-year limited warranty for defects in manufacturing. Buyers of the king-size mattress should be aware that it needs to be paired with an appropriate foundation unit and placed on a frame that provides center support. Failure to follow these stipulations may void the warranty. Other possible violations of the warranty conditions include the presence of stains, dirt or any other unsanitary conditions. Consumers also need to keep the tags attached to the mattress as these contain the mattress's warranty code number.
