How to Adjust a Coil Pillow-Top Foam Full Mattress

A lump or sag in your pillow-top foam mattress is an indication of gradual wear, which occurs when the bed is not regularly rotated. Beds that aren't rotated develop a sag that is due to the bed's coils adjusting to your body weight and forming a spot similar to the shape of your sleeping spot. To prevent mattress unevenness, the bed must be rotated monthly to evenly distribute your weight over the mattress. Pillow tops cannot be flipped like non-pillow-top mattresses, as the non-removable cushion must remain in the upright position.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove all bed linen from the mattress before adjusting the position.

    • 2

Pull the upper-right corner of the mattress toward you to rotate it. Walk backward while pulling the mattress with you to rotate the head of the mattress to the foot of the bed frame. This rotation turns the bed 180 degrees.

Replace the bed frame. If your foam mattress sags shortly after rotating it, the source of the sagging is an improper bed frame. The bed frame supports the mattress with a center beam to prevent sagging, according to the website Serta.
