When the Sealy Posturepedic mattress was introduced, its patented coils were made from heavy-gauge steel. Today, the coils are made from titanium, which lightens and strengthens the inner springs and provides support on both the surface and within. Twice tempered to maintain their shape, the Posturepedic coils retain nearly all of their original height and support over the mattress's life. The most used section of the mattress, its center third, is packed to provide enhanced support. Moving the mattress --- whether for changing sheets, repositioning the mattress or moving the entire bed --- is made easier by the proprietary LiftRight Surround Handles. A special rubberized StayTight fabric holds the mattress, bed skirt and sheets in place.
The surface feel of the Sealy Posturepedic ranges from very soft to very firm. The mattress has one sleep surface. It does not to need flipping.
The Sealy Posturepedic CoreSupport Center is designed to resist body impressions. The company literature says it should feel as good as the day you purchased it, even after 10 years. Another proprietary feature, the SitRight Edge System, solidifies the edge of the mattress for seating but also offers flexibility for different types of foundations.
Sealy's website offers quotes on its mattresses starting at $599.99 for a queen-size mattress set, but the Posturepedic mattress can be found in all sizes, from twin to king size, and at lower prices at online discount retailers, as much as a few hundred dollars less.
Sealy offers a full 10-year warranty on its Posturepedic mattress.
