Serta Safford Mattress Specifications

The Coils

• The Safford Plush Mattress contains the patent-pending VertiCoil Premiere™ innerspring technology. Verticoil Permiere™ is an offset coil design that increased the surface area coverage by 35 percent over traditional innerspring systems. As a result, the mattress reacts and conforms more highly to individual body contours. Although improved technology lessens the importance of coil counts, twin mattresses contain 264 coils, full-size mattresses have 374, queen-size have 480, king-size have 624 and the largest, the California king, has 625 coils.

Support

• Support in the Serta Safford comes from the dovetail-interlocking design of the foam encasement. This design extends the sleep surface to the edge of the mattress, and increases the seating support. It also reduces the effect of movement on individual sleepers.

Durability

• Bottom support in the Serta Safford comes from Serta's StabL-Base® double beam foundation. This foundation isolates movement, reduces mattress sway and is twice as strong as a wood frame, thereby increasing the mattress's durability.

Comfort

• The top upholstery of the Safford mattress consists of 1/2 inch of an advanced latex foam, which relieves pressure and supports the spine. The foam is also antimicrobial and hypo-allergenic. The fluffy Pillo-Fill® quilt cushions the body and increases airflow for coolness and comfort.

Safety

• Fireblocker® Insulator is the convoluted topper and foam system that resists open flame. Made from both natural and synthetic fibers, it is designed to isolate and slow the spread of flame in the mattress. The FireBlocker® system has been standard on all Serta mattress sets since 2005.

Warranty

• Serta offers a 10-year warranty on all of its mattress sets.
