Sizes

• Like most mattresses, Serta firm mattresses are available in five different sizes. The exact size of a mattress does not determine the firmness level, but rather the number of persons the bed can comfortably sleep. From smallest to largest, Serta mattresses are available in twin, full, queen, king and California king sizes. The main difference between a California king and a standard king size mattress is that the California king is slightly longer than the standard king. Traditionally, a California king measures 84 inches while the standard king measures 80 inches; however, the California king measures 72 inches wide while the standard king measures 76 inches.

Coil Mattresses

• The traditional coil mattress is available in four main types: offset, open, individually wrapped and continuous coils. The most supportive coil mattress out of all four of these designs is the continuous coil mattress as this mattress shares the weight across the innersprings, which results in a stronger and more supportive mattress. Within Serta mattresses, this type of design is called the Continuous Support Innerspring mattress or the Free Flex Innerspring mattress.

Latex Foam

• Instead of a traditional innerspring coil design, latex foam mattresses feature a solid latex foam center. Since latex foam is breathable, users experience less heat buildup when compared to traditional foam mattresses. Serta latex foam mattresses utilize the Talalay latex process to produce high quality latex foam that is responsive and supportive for a firm feeling that helps keep your spine aligned. Memory Foam

• Memory foam mattresses utilize visco-elastic foam to replace the innerspring mattress system. Memory foam contours to your body shape, which allows the mattress to support your entire body by creating an exact imprint of your body. One of the main disadvantages of traditional memory foam mattresses is the amount of heat the foam retains from your body temperature.
