What Is a Euro Box Mattress?

Euro box mattresses provide extra cushion or padding at the top layer of the mattress, similar to a pillow-top mattress. This layer helps minimize discomfort at pressure points like shoulders, hips and knees, especially for side sleepers. This support results in better circulation and more restful sleep.
  1. Construction

    • The layer of padded support on Euro box mattresses is sewn directly onto the mattress all the way around the edge with no space between the pillow and mattress. This construction provides support across the entire sleeping surface and does not taper off at the edge of the mattress.

    Thickness

    • The Euro box pillow is typically 3 to 5 inches thick, more than pillow-top mattresses. Combined with the mattress thickness, the total height is 11 to 15 inches thick. Extra-deep pocket fitted sheets should be used to accommodate the thickness.

    Durability

    • Euro box mattresses typically last longer than pillow-top due to the extra cushioning and distinctive construction. The padding will not flatten out as easily, so you will not need to replace it as soon as other innerspring types.
