Do Queen Air Mattresses Use Full Size Sheets?

Queen size air mattresses use traditional queen size bedsheets. Full size bedsheets are 6 inches smaller in width and shorter in length. You will need to use a set of queen size sheets, which will be wide enough, but you need to use a set of sheets with the correct pocket depth.
  1. Dimensions

    • The length of a queen size air mattress is 78 inches, but there are some brands that are only 77 inches long. The width of the mattress is 60 inches. A traditional queen size mattress is 60 x 80 inches, so you are only losing 2 inches in length when using a queen size air mattress.

    Bedding

    • Full size fitted sheets are 54 x 75 inches. Full size flat sheets are 80 x 94 inches. The width of the fitted full sheet is 6 inches too small for a queen size air mattress, and the length is about 2 to 3 inches too short. Queen size fitted bedsheets are 60 x 80 inches; the flat sheets are 90 x 102 inches. Although the length of the queen size fitted sheet is about 2 to 3 inches longer than the air mattress, this sheet set will fit the mattress.

    Bedsheet Pockets

    • The height of the queen size air mattress is 5 to 18 inches, depending on the brand. When selecting queen size bed sheets, you need to select a set that has deep enough pockets. The pocket is sewn into the corners of the fitted sheets to hold the sheet on the mattress. Pocket depth sizes for sheets range between 7 to 9 inches for standard, 10 to 15 inches for deep and 15 to 22 inches for extra deep.

Advantages of Queen Size Air Mattresses

    • Queen size air mattresses have enough sleeping room for two people. Each person will have 30 inches of sleeping space. The air mattress will fit into many different size tents, or it can be used on any floor indoors for overnight guests. Queen size mattresses fold up when not being used for easy storage.
