How to Fix a Punctured Aerobed

A punctured Aerobed can abruptly end a comfortable night's sleep. Although the Aerobed is made from heavy-gauge PVC sheeting, it can be punctured by rocks, split under excessive weight or weakened by improper storage. Along with each mattress, Aerobed provides a repair patch kit for use in such situations. Using the enclosed kit, you can repair your punctured mattress and get back to bed in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

      Deflate your Aerobed completely.

    • 2

Locate the vinyl patch, included with your Aerobed repair kit.

    • 3

Cut the patch to the appropriate size using scissors. Save additional patching material for later use.

    • 4

Clean the area around the puncture with a rag soaked in rubbing alcohol. Allow the surface to dry completely.

    • 5

Apply a thin layer of the enclosed adhesive to the area around the leak. Also apply adhesive to one side of the vinyl patch. Allow the adhesive to set for 10 minutes.

    • 6

Press the vinyl patch onto the area around the puncture. To avoid breaking the seal and further damaging the mattress, do not remove or re-seat the patch once you have placed it.

    • 7

Wipe away any excess adhesive with a clean rag. Allow the adhesive to dry thoroughly before re-inflating your Aerobed.
