For bottles in which the polish needs to be poured, a furniture cloth or rag can be placed over the open lid and the polish dabbed on the cloth then worked onto the furniture. Other ways to utilize the benefits of furniture polish is by pre-moistened wipes and dry cloths that have a pre-measured amount of polish on them. Pre-moistened wipes are great for those who travel or are short on cupboard space or storage. The dry cloths carry just a trace of polish and cleaner and provide adequate dust and dirt removal without added polish or lubrication.

Time Frame

• Once the polish has been sprayed or poured or wiped onto the wood, it should be worked in immediately as it can dry rather quickly once exposed to air. Spending one to two minutes thoroughly rubbing in the polish is will ensure an adequate shine. Furniture polish never wears off but wood can lose its shine and luster after a couple of days and a reapplication is necessary. If furniture polish spills onto carpet or fabric, immediately soak up the area with towel or shammy and apply an adequate amount of dish soap to draw up the oil, blot and then re-blot with a wet and clean towel until the stain disappears.
