Instructions

    • 1

Measure the front width of the furniture between the armrests. Write this figure down and label it "Front Width." Measure the height from the lowest point to the highest point of the furniture. Write this figure down and label it "Back Height." Measure the length along the back of the furniture between the furthest point to the left and the furthest point to the right. Write this figure down and label it "Back Width." Use these measurements to select a slipcover that will fit the dimensions of your furniture.

    • 2

Find the back bottom center edge of the slipcover. Match this edge up with the back bottom center edge of the piece of furniture.

    • 3

Pull the slipcover up and over the back portion of the piece of furniture. If there are seams that are perpendicular to the bottom edge of the slipcover, use these seams as a guide as you arrange the slipcover over each corner of the furniture. Pull the slipcover down to the armrests of the furniture.

    • 4

Place the left seam at the left armrest and the right seam at the right armrest.

    • 5

Pull the slipcover down toward the bottom front of the piece of furniture and match up the front bottom center edge of the slipcover with the front bottom center edge of the furniture.

    • 6

Tuck the slipcover in along the cushions and arrange the fabric so that it is even along the seating area of the furniture.

    • 7

Adjust the front and sides of the slipcover by pulling any excess fabric around the lower front areas under the armrests. The fabric can be pulled around this corner tightly to the sides and tucked under the furniture using an upholstery tack, if desired.

    • 8

Tuck any extra fabric into the cushion crevices to smooth and tighten the fabric slipcover.
