Find the studs in the room you want to hang the hammock by gently tapping on the walls with a hammer (pad the head with tape or other material to protect the walls) or by using an electronic stud finder. Listen for the solid sound of a wooden beam if using the hammer method. Mark the location of the center of the stud.
Look for a second stud about 14-16 feet from the first one, across the room or at an angle that will allow the hammock to drape properly.
Measure about 8 feet up from the floor and use the power drill to insert a screw eye into the center of the stud.
While hanging the rope from the first screw eye, verify the position of the second screw eye. If the angle looks too severe or the hammock doesn't stretch out properly, look for another stud. Measure an equal distance up from the floor as was used for the first stud. Use the power drill to insert the second screw eye into the center of the second stud.
Hang your hammock from the screw eyes, or attach S hooks to the screw eyes for easy removal of the hammock.
