Lay the leather hide face down on the ground or on a work surface, then spray the contact cement to the backside of the hide.
Spray the contact cement to the top of the table and allow it to sit for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the contact cement is tacky to the touch.
Flip the table over and set it down, surface first, so that it's centered on the leather hide. This is going to adhere the leather to the top of the table. Then flip the entire assembly over and smooth the leather down onto the surface of the table until it's flat and has no bubbles.
Lift up the sides of the leather and spray both the leather and the edges of the table using the contact cement. Once it tacks up--in about 5 to 10 minutes--wrap the leather over the edge and pull it tight. In the corners you'll need to trim the leather with the scissors or fold it over like wrapping a present.
Flip the table back onto the top so that the leather surface is on the ground. Pull the edges tight, then staple the leather into the bottom of the table using the staple gun. You want to staple it towards the edge of the table, forming a perimeter of staples around the underside of the table. This should leave you with a table top that is completely wrapped in leather, with all of the excess leather underneath the table.
Cut off any excess leather using the razor blades. Turn the table upright.
