How to Adjust a LA-Z-Boy Recliner

Walk around the outside of your La-Z-Boy recliner or reclining sofa in order to locate the handle or operation buttons. These should be located on the side of the unit and be easily visible.

Sit down in the La-Z-Boy recliner and reach for the handle or operation buttons. Pull the handle towards you or push the front of the power button if yours is electronically operated. As you do this, the foot rest will come up for your feet. You can use the handle or button to control how far up the foot rest rises.

Push on the back of the recliner using your back in order to get the unit to recline. Lean back farther if you want to be nearly lying down. When you are ready to sit up, simply begin to sit up and the back of the La-Z-Boy will automatically move into a sitting position.

Return the foot rest to its original position so that you can get out of the chair. If you have a unit where the foot rest is controlled by a handle, simply push the handle forward to lower the foot rest. If you have a power operated model, push the back portion of the side operation button and the leg rest will retract back into the chair.
