How to Make Bunny Ears for a TV

There are some households that prefer not to have access to cable or satellite services. If you are in one of these households, in order to receive television signals, you will need to purchase an antenna from the store or make your own bunny ears for your television. Making a homemade antenna can be accomplished by using common household items. A homemade antenna device will allow you to receive signals from your favorite television stations.

Instructions

    • 1

Take your wire clothes hanger, and stretch the bottom end to the shape of a large circle. Stretching the hanger will make it stay in place when it's mounted on your television.

    • 2

Cut the speaker wire to fit the stretched bottom portion of the hanger. Grab your wire strippers, and remove the plastic coating from the speaker wire. On the stretched end of the hanger, wrap the speaker wire loosely around the middle of the hanger.

    • 3

Remove a piece of aluminum foil from its box, and wrap it tightly on top of the speaker wire.

    • 4

Wrap the hook end of the hanger over the coaxial cable on the back of your television. This will enable you to receive broadcast television from the major networks.
