One of our great frustrations with our furniture upholstery is the ultimate breakdown of the fabric, which results in pilling, stretching, sagging, stiffening, or shrinking. Microfiber was created specifically to avoid these problems. The density of microfiber upholstery makes it strong and resilient.
Due to microfiber's super-fine weave, it's naturally stain resistant. Many fluids will simply run off and can be patted dry. You can easily avoid potential stains with minimal effort and a quick response.
Liquids bead up on microfiber. Reacting quickly to blot (not rub) the remaining liquid with a dry towel will take care of most spills. If the spot is oily, greasy, or sticky, you can use a cleaner designed specifically for microfiber fabric. But don't use water on microfiber as the water will eventually soak into the fabric and leave a mark.
If you have allergies, microfiber is a godsend. Not only does it not generate its own dust or lint, the fiber is so tight that most allergens can be repelled or removed with a vacuum or a lint roller.
