Shampoo for Sofa Cleaning

Uses

• Shampoo detergents for sofas are for regular spot cleaning. Once you wipe the stain clean with a damp cloth, pour a small drop of sofa on the cloth and rub the fabric together to create a lather. Press the shampoo onto the sofa and rub the affected area. To clean a larger area, mix the solution in a steam cleaner for use on the whole sofa.

Types

• Some brands of cleaning agents, called "shampoo," are specifically for use on upholstery. Use these to clean sofas instead ordinary hair shampoo. In a pinch, it is possible to use hair shampoo as a cleaning agent for your sofa, but use shampoos without heavy scents or dyes that may cause damage.

• Before using shampoo, evaluate the type of stain and the material of your sofa. Labels on the sofa will indicate the safest way to clean any stains without damaging the sofa material.
