Slide the stud finder along the wall where the cabinets will be installed in a horizontal direction. When the stud finder slides across a stud in the wall, the light will illuminate. Make a mark on the wall where the stud finder illuminates.
Mark a line on the wall where the entertainment center cabinets will be installed. Measure the distance from the line on the wall to each stud location using a tape measure. Transfer these dimensions to the cabinet. Make a mark inside the cabinet where each stud is located.
Place the cabinets against the wall. Line the cabinets up with the lines drawn on the wall in Step 2.
Check the positioning of the cabinets with a level. If the cabinets need to be shifted, slide wood shims between the cabinet and the floor until the cabinets are level.
Drill two 1/8-inch holes through the back of the cabinets at each stud location using a power drill and a drill bit. Place two screws through the back of each cabinet and fasten them to the stud using a power drill and 3-inch grabber screws.
Continue installing the remaining cabinets to the wall until complete. Screw cabinets together using a power drill and 1/1/4-inch grabber screws.
