Instructions

    • 1

Snip any frayed edges away from the rip, using small, sharp scissors. This will make the area much smoother once you fix it.

    • 2

Remove any stuffing poking through the torn area. Apply leather filler inside the area of the tear. This will help keep the stuffing in place.

    • 3

Dry the leather filler with a hair dryer set on low.

    • 4

Apply another layer of the filler and don't wait for it to dry. Leaving it sticky will help the patch stick.

    • 5

Cut a patch slightly larger than the area of the rip, using scissors. Place leather glue around the site of the tear.

    • 6

Place the patch over the rip, smoothing it with your fingers and lightly pressing it down. Leave it for an hour so that it dries.

    • 7

Wipe leather protector over the patch with a cloth. Let it dry for an hour.

    • 8

Apply a liquid leather color to the patch area, using a cloth. The color should cause the patch to blend in with the rest of the furniture.
