How to Clean a Wet Mark Off of a Microfiber Suede Couch

Microfiber is known for its good looks and its strong resemblance to genuine suede. A microfiber couch might look like suede, but it is actually made from a material similar to polyester. That means you need to use the right techniques when you clean your microfiber couch. If you are not careful when cleaning microfiber suede, you could end up ruining the appearance of your expensive sofa.

Instructions

    • 1

Dab at the mark lightly with a soft cloth or a paper towel. Remove as much of the mark as possible by dabbing at it until it starts to come off.

    • 2

Brush lightly back and forth across the area with the wet mark. This will help the stain come to the surface where you can more easily remove it.

    • 3

Soak a soft cloth or sponge with rubbing alcohol or ammonia. Dab at the wet mark with the cloth or sponge to remove the mark.

    • 4

Use a commercial microfiber cleaner to remove the stain if the other techniques do not work. You can find these cleaners at furniture stores, department stores and discount retailers.
