How to Get a Wet Stain Off a Suede Chair

A suede chair can be a welcome addition to a room, but only if the suede is kept in top condition. If you spill anything on your suede chair, you need to clean it up as fast as possible. Removing a set-in stain from suede is much more difficult than soaking up a fresh spill.

Instructions

    • 1

Place paper towels over the wet stain. Lightly pat the paper towels, and allow them to soak up as much of the moisture as possible. Replace the wet paper towels with dry ones as needed.

    • 2

Dampen a cloth or sponge with cool water. Dab the stain to bring it to the surface, and wipe away as much of the liquid as possible with paper towels or a clean cloth.

    • 3

Use a suede brush or another stiff-bristled brush to brush against the grain of the suede, after the suede has dried.
