DIY Magazine Stool

If you have a lot of magazines lying around your home, make a magazine stool out of an old wooden stool and a small vintage suitcase. This combination of old items -- one or both of which you may already have around your house -- is a great way to repurpose items and cuts down on costs while still producing a useful item for your home.

Instructions

    • 1

Dampen a sponge a wipe down the top of an old stool to remove dust and debris that may prevent the glue from adhering. Also wipe down the bottom of the suitcase. Allow both to dry completely.

    • 2

Insert a glue stick in the hot glue gun, plug in the gun and allow the glue to warm up for several minutes.

    • 3

Apply strips of glue in zig zags across the bottom of the suitcase, and place the suitcase firmly in the middle of the stool. Press down firmly on the suitcase. Allow the glue to dry.

    • 4

Stack magazines inside the suitcase. Keep the suitcase open, and nestle the magazine stool in a corner for a unique, charming addition to your living room or study space.
