Majestic fireplaces come in wall and floor units, even those that can be cleverly hidden behind a door when not in use. Majestic's UV36 model is a vent-free unit that casts warmth up to 15 feet. Once you've installed this gas unit, you'll need to ignite it safely to enjoy its clean-burning glow.

  Remove or lift the black grate panel located at the front bottom of the fireplace. Turn the gas control knob to the "OFF" position. Do not use a tool on the knob.

  Wait five minutes before igniting the fireplace. Do not ignite the fireplace if you smell gas. Turn the gas knob counterclockwise to the "IGN" or ignition position.

  Push on the knob for five seconds. Hold the knob in for 30 seconds when opening the gas line for the first time.

  Continue to hold the gas knob then press the "Piezo Ignitor" button. This action lights the pilot light. Hold the gas knob for 30 more seconds to warm the unit.

  Turn the gas knob to the "ON" position. Turn the power switch to the "ON" position and adjust the temperature by turning the dial. Turn off the pilot light after one minute of burn time.
