Is There Such a Thing as Sofas With Velcro?

Sofas are available in a variety of different materials, such as fabric, leather, wicker and leather blends. While not a primary component, some of these sofas can have Velcro-style fasteners as part of the unit. This is true of many brands, including Raymour & Flanigan. The location and purpose of this type of fastener varies by sofa.
  1. About Velcro

    • Velcro is a trademarked brand name for hook and loop fasteners, which are often collectively referred to as velcro. However, not all hook and loop fasteners are made by the Velcro brand. This material features a soft or fuzzy loop side and a stiff hook side. When pressed together, they form a secure connection.

    Sofa Covers

    • A sofa cover is a common place where you will find Velcro-style fasteners on a sofa. Some sofas are made with an easy-to-remove cover that is attached by this type of hook and loop fastener. You can also buy covers to change the look of the sofa. This type of cover usually has Velcro-style fasteners to keep it in place on the sofa.

    Sofa Cushions

    • Many sofas have a Velcro-style fastener strip to keep the cushions in place. You will find them on the back of the cushions and the inside of the sofa where the cushions touch. Some sofas even attach pillows to the body of the sofa with this type of fastener.

    Types of Sofas with Velcro

    • Fabric sofas are the most common sofa type to have a Velcro-style closure. Pet sofas can also have Velcro-style fasteners. It is less common to see a leather sofa with this type of fastener, but some leather sofas do have them on the cushion backs. Outdoor patio furniture sofas also commonly have Velcro-style fasteners.
