My Lamp Head Will Not Rotate on a Verilux Heritage Floor Lamp

If you have the Heritage Deluxe Natural Spectrum floor lamp made by Verilux, you may have decided to purchase it because of the lamp's rotation feature that makes it easy to direct the light in a room. If you have a lamp that is old or is damaged, you may have trouble rotating the lamp head.
  1. Lamp Description

    • The Verilux Heritage floor lamp is a special living room or office lamp that is designed to relieve the annoyances of eyestrain and light glare. It is made with an Optix glare control lens and what Verilux calls "Flicker Elimination Technology®" to eliminate buzzing and eye fatigue. Users of the lamp can select one of three levels of light intensity: 75-, 100- and 150-watt options.

    Rotation Capabilities

    • The Heritage Deluxe Natural Spectrum floor lamp features a bulb cover made of metal that dissipates heat and rotates 180 degrees. The bulb cover swivels a full 360 degrees so that users can aim the light precisely.

    Troubleshooting the Bulb

    • If your lamp head is not rotating properly, troubleshoot whether the bulb is installed properly. Unplug the lamp from the wall and wait for the bulb to cool. Survey the placement of the bulb to determine whether it is installed in the socket firmly and straightly. You will need to unscrew the bulb and screw it in straightly so that the bulb does not touch the bulb head cover. Keep in mind that you must install Verilux bulbs only into the floor lamp.

    Lubricate the Lamp Head

    • If the lamp head is tight and will not rotate, it could be rusted. This may be the case with lamps that have had water damage or that are old. Unplug the lamp and apply a household lubricant made for loosening rust and hinges. Allow the lubricant to set in and then gently twist the lamp head.
