How to Replace Drawer Handles

It's not always cost effective to replace your kitchen or bathroom cabinets or a piece of furniture. Fortunately, changing the drawer handles is a quick and easy update that is far less expensive than replacing the piece of furniture or cabinets.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Replacement drawer handles, which can be purchased from most home improvement stores

Instructions

    • 1

Open the drawer and empty its contents. The drawer handle hardware screws in from the backside, so you need clear access.

    • 2

Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the one or two screws holding the drawer handle in place. Turn the screwdriver toward the left to loosen the screws. Remove the old hardware.

    • 3

Put the screws from the new hardware through the holes in your drawer.

    • 4

Line up the new drawer pull with the screw, and use your fingers to begin threading the screw into the handle.

    • 5

Tighten the bolts completely with the screwdriver by turning the screws to the right.
