Sand your pieces of lumber. Rub each side thoroughly to smooth all surfaces. These pieces will be the table legs.
Use a pencil to mark areas on your table legs where the L brackets will be installed. You need two brackets on each leg, 90 degrees apart from each other. Attach the brackets to the table legs with the screws, using the drill.
Place the table top upside down on the floor. Attach the legs to table top using screws. Be sure that the screws are not long enough to extend through the table top.
Turn table upright. Increase stability by drilling a long screw down through the table top and into the table leg. Cover area with putty and smooth with sandpaper.
Stain table with your favorite type of stain. Match it to cabinetry or other furniture in the kitchen for a cohesive design.
