Instructions

  1. How to Make a Utensil Rack

    • 1

Measure the length of the space where you want your rack to hang. Use the stud locator to ensure that you are measuring over a ceiling beam. Mark a spot about six inches in from each end of the length your rod will be.

    • 2

Measure and cut, with the hacksaw, the curtain rod to the length of intended space minus the length of finials. Wrap plumbers tape around the ends of the rod and slide the finials into place. Use glue to attach the finial on the cut end of the rod if necessary.

    • 3

Drill small starter holes at the two marks in the ceiling beam, and screw an eye hook into each.

    • 4

Hang the rod by attaching two S-hooks. Slide the other end of each S-hook into an eye-hook. Use the pliers to close both ends of the S-hook.

    • 5

Drill a small hole into each utensil if it doesn't already have one. Slide the remaining S-hooks over the curtain rod and close the top end with the pliers. Hook the bottom end of each S-hook through a hole in a utensil to hang.
